The first piercing I ever wanted was the septum, or the middle of the nose. That was about three years ago, and I tried to do it myself with a sewing-needle and a plastic ear-stud. Ah well, I didn't know anything about piercing then..:)
Needless to say, my self-piercing project didn't work out very well, and seeing that getting it done professionally would cost me around 100$, I put the plans on ice for a few years.
To make a short story even shorter, I, as mentioned, got a bunch of needles and stuff from Oslo Piercing Studio, so I found a 18g needle, shoved it through after a bit of aligning and measurement. There came a few tears to my eyes, but that's normal. Painwise, it wasn't as bad as I thought, it was like getting punched in the nose.. or something.
I inserted a black niobium retainer (staple-looking thing to turn up into your nose), because my parents were a bit pissed at me for having so much "metal and shit in my face" (I then had four nostril rings, labret and the stuff in my ear). A week later, I took out two of the nostril-rings to get a more symmetrical nose, and at that time, I changed the retainer for a 18g circular barbell (horseshoe).
Since then, I've sized up the jewellery, and I'm at the moment wearing a plain 12g CBR, or a straight spike on occasions. Pics will be up asap.
