I did my first ear-piercings myself, with a 19g needle and two silver ear-studs. This resulted in improperly healed holes, and I had to remove the front one due to keloids. I also got two more studs gunned above the remaining hole, which also developed keloids (strange bump of tissue, usually painful), and I removed them as well.

With one hole and nothing to do, I began inserting jewellery of larger size into it (called stretching), and it got up to 8 gauge or something. At this time, I had started doing some work for Oslo Piercing Studio, and I recieved a small supply of needles and proper jewellery. I inserted a 14g ring in in the stretched hole, and made two more holes next to it, one in front of it, and another behind it. In these, I also wore 14g rings.

When these had healed, I began playing around with knitting-pins in the foremost piercings, and stretched the front one relatively fast up to 7mm, as shown on these pictures.

 #1 stretched to 5.5mm, #2 stretched to 3mm, #3 14 gauge

 #1 stretched to 7mm, #2 shrunk to 14 gauge, #3 14 gauge

At the time being, I wear a 8mm flesh-tunnel with a 14g CBR through it, and similar 14g CBRs in the other two holes, all with large, black niobium beads. (I'll add a pic asap)
